/Article

China stated on Friday that it plans to enforce a 34% tax on all goods imported from the U.S. effective from April 10, as part of a series of retaliatory actions following President Donald Trump's implementation of significant tariffs on "Liberation Day." This new tax aligns with the reciprocal 34% tariff that the U.S. imposed on Chinese goods recently. The Chinese Commerce Ministry further indicated that it will tighten export regulations on rare earths, crucial components in advanced technology like computer chips and electric vehicle batteries. Additionally, China revealed its intention to place 27 U.S. companies on trade sanction or export control lists and disclosed a filing of a complaint with the World Trade Organization concerning the tariffs matter.
