Gold Medalist, the management agency of Kim Soo Hyun, has issued a statement in response to allegations suggesting that the late Sulli (Choi Jin Ri) was pressured into filming a bed scene in the movie 'Real.'
On April 2, Gold Medalist clarified that the role of Song Yoo Hwa, portrayed by Choi Jin Ri, was a character that involved a bed scene from the initial script development stage. During the casting process, it was explicitly stated that the role required an actor capable of performing nude scenes.
The agency emphasized that similar to job listings specifying key qualifications, the role of Song Yoo Hwa necessitated nude acting, which was communicated upfront during casting. They believed that discussing nude scenes post-casting would intensify pressure and coercion on the actor.
Moreover, Gold Medalist explained that the script provided to Choi Jin Ri and her agency included the bed scene, with character descriptions outlining the level of nudity involved. The contract had clear clauses defining the extent of nudity, and both the late Choi Jin Ri and her agency thoroughly assessed these terms before accepting the role.
Regarding the speculation about a body double, the agency clarified that there was no substitute actor for Choi Jin Ri. They mentioned that a ‘standing actor’ was present during rehearsals to assist with blocking movements but did not perform the scene.
The agency also shared statements from the assistant director and script supervisor of 'Real,' confirming that the bed scene and all other sequences were filmed as planned. They emphasized that coercing an actor into such scenes is unacceptable in any production.
In response to recent claims by Sulli's older brother, the agency denied contacting her mother and contested his accusations. They urged the public to refrain from spreading unfounded speculations, emphasizing the importance of ending baseless rumors and speculative reports.
