Germany's BDI industry lobby group has advised companies to uphold their values at their German branches following an announcement by the U.S. that its embassies are working to ensure contractors adhere to U.S. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. The BDI expressed reservations about the U.S. government's attempts to promote political ideologies related to corporate guidelines internationally. The association emphasized that corporate principles should be maintained irrespective of the governing authorities in different countries, urging companies to stay true to their values. Additionally, it pointed out that companies must comply with the legal frameworks of the countries in which they operate.
