Confirmed on April 1st, the much-anticipated drama adaptation of 'The Remarried Empress' is set to be released on Disney+. The drama is based on a popular web novel and has already captured significant interest, with principal photography scheduled to start between late May and early June.

As reported exclusively by IZE, 'The Remarried Empress' is a fantasy court romance drama adapted from a highly praised web novel of the same title. It follows Navier, the ideal empress of the Eastern Empire, who divorces Emperor Sovieshu after he has an affair. Navier later remarries Heinrey, the prince of the Western Kingdom, and reclaims her empress title. The novel's success has led to its serialization as a webtoon, building a devoted fan base eagerly anticipating its drama adaptation.

The drama's casting has generated considerable buzz, with Shin Min Ah playing Navier and Lee Sae Young cast as Rashta, Emperor Sovieshu's concubine. Lee Jong Suk has been offered the role of Heinrey, and Ju Ji Hoon is being considered for Emperor Sovieshu. While the actors have yet to confirm their participation, discussions are positive.

Disney+ aims to make a strong return with 'The Remarried Empress' after the average response to 'Knock-Off.' The streaming platform has been investing heavily in Asian content, with successful projects like 'Big Bet,' 'Moving,' and 'Light Shop.' 'The Remarried Empress' adds a traditional romance fantasy drama to Disney+'s lineup, leveraging its global presence, star-studded cast, and existing fan base to anticipate a positive reception in South Korea and worldwide.
