According to Baker Hughes, US energy companies reduced the number of active oil and natural gas rigs for the first time in three weeks. The total rig count dropped by one to 592 in the week ending March 28, signaling a potential decrease in future production. Compared to the same time last year, there are now 29 fewer rigs in operation, down by 5%. Specifically, there was a decline of two oil rigs to 484, while gas rigs increased by one to reach 103.
