Concerns about the future of the NewJeans group are growing among some of their fans, who have now shifted their support. Demonstrating this change, on March 27, members of the NJZ (NewJeans) fanbase, known as Bunnies, staged a protest by parking trucks outside HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan District, Seoul. The protest aimed to end the ongoing conflict and promote constructive dialogue between NJZ (NewJeans) and ADOR.
The protesters urged the group to reconcile with both HYBE and ADOR, advising them to return to HYBE and put a stop to the legal dispute. Their worries were sparked by a recent court decision that upheld ADOR's injunction against NewJeans, preventing the group from carrying out independent activities.
This situation has raised concerns among fans that NewJeans may have to cease their activities indefinitely, running the risk of losing the following they have gained and creating uncertainty about their future. Korean online community users have commented on the protest trucks sent to NewJeans:
- Some felt the trucks should have been sent earlier. - They acknowledged the genuine concern of the fans for the group's future. - There were doubts about whether the group would heed the fans' messages and return to HYBE promptly. - Some users indicated that due to their past actions, NewJeans might not easily back down. - Fans recognized the support from fellow fans but expressed concern that it might be too late for any intervention to be effective. - Some users highlighted the challenging position NewJeans is in, with seemingly limited prospects for success. - They refrained from being openly critical of the fans who initiated the protest, acknowledging their long-standing support.
Moreover, Dolphiners Films have refuted claims of unauthorized use of a NewJeans music video in an official statement.
