The Garosero Research Institute (HoverLab) announced on March 28, 2025, that they have uncovered new information from their examination of Kim Sae Ron's mobile phone and KakaoTalk data posthumously.

The analysis revealed recovered chat records and screenshots showing conversations between Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun, shedding light on their past interactions.

The messages exchanged between April 2 and April 16, 2018, imply that Kim Soo Hyun was serving in the military during that period. However, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, clarified that a letter he sent during his military service was intended for a friend, not a romantic interest.

Further investigation into their chat history showed that Kim Soo Hyun was occupied with various commitments even while on break. Despite having a romantic relationship during middle school, there were indications that Kim Soo Hyun's feelings for Kim Sae Ron might have waned over time. Nevertheless, they continued to communicate normally.

HoverLab also uncovered a significant number of additional chat records on Kim Sae Ron's devices, providing more insight into her interactions with Kim Soo Hyun. These findings have increased public and media interest. HoverLab suggested that Kim Soo Hyun's agency should apologize to Kim Sae Ron's family for denying the relationship when she was a minor.

Additionally, Kim Sae Ron's family shared a heartfelt letter from a journalist, adding to the emotional context surrounding the investigation.
