Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD announced on Friday that it has entered into a partnership with Intergea, an Italian company, to distribute car parts in Italy. This collaboration is part of BYD's strategy to strengthen its presence in a significant European market.
Amid a slowdown in the Chinese market, Chinese automakers are focusing on increasing their sales in Europe, capitalizing on their expertise in electric vehicle technology and establishing production facilities in the region.
Through the newly established partnership, authentic BYD car parts will be readily available within 48 hours across Italy through CRF, a division of Intergea, starting in May.
BYD emphasized that this agreement is a vital move in dispelling the misconception surrounding the difficulty of finding spare parts for Asian vehicles, which has often deterred potential buyers from making a purchase.
In March, BYD announced its goal to expand its sales outside of China and aims to surpass 800,000 cars by 2025.
