The family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron has announced that they will hold a press conference on March 27 to present evidence supporting their claims that actor Kim Soo Hyun was involved in a relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Attorney Bae Ji Seok from the law firm Buyou stated that they would disclose this proof at the press conference and address false information circulating about the family, mentioning plans for legal actions. The press conference is set for 1:30 PM KST on March 27 in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Earlier, Kim Sae Ron’s family appeared on the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (HoverLab) and stated that Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun had a six-year relationship starting when she was underage. They also criticized her agency for their handling of her DUI incident. During the broadcast, a photo was shown allegedly depicting Kim Soo Hyun at Kim Sae Ron’s residence wearing a T-shirt and underwear while washing dishes.

Initially, Kim Soo Hyun's side denied the allegations, calling them false. However, on March 14, his agency changed their stance, admitting that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019 until the fall of 2020, after Kim Sae Ron turned 18. They emphasized that the claim of Kim Soo Hyun dating her when she was a minor was untrue.

Despite this explanation, the controversy surrounding the issue continues to escalate. In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team has filed criminal complaints against Garosero Research Institute and some members of Kim Sae Ron's family, citing violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, including charges related to illegal filming and distribution.
