A recent statement has emerged claiming that actor Kim Soo Hyun was not connected to the tragic passing of the late actress Kim Sae Ron.

On March 25th KST, Kim Sae Ron’s ex-boyfriend, known as Mr. K, spoke with The Fact, suggesting that Kim Sae Ron had struggled due to her family's lack of care.

Mr. K disclosed messages between him and Kim Sae Ron, as well as messages from a man believed to be her supposed “New York husband.” This individual, who Kim reportedly married in New York, had apparently sent abusive messages to Mr. K. In her messages to him, Kim Sae Ron mentioned being mistreated and said, “I’m sorry, just take it out on me,” and “He yells and hits me, but nothing changes.”

Explaining her reasons for marrying the man, Kim wrote: “Initially, things were tough with no emotional support. I felt incredibly lonely without anyone to rely on. I sought comfort elsewhere, someone who would listen and assist me. However, the situation deteriorated. He started threatening to expose our chats and photos, hacked my Instagram, physically assaulted me, verbally abused me… I was petrified. I couldn’t end the relationship out of fear and concerns about its impact on you.”

Before this, Kim Sae Ron's family had accused YouTuber and actor Kim Soo Hyun of causing her suicide. They alleged that Kim Soo Hyun, whom she had been involved with since she was young, demanded her to repay a 700 million won debt after her DUI incident and suspension from work. However, Mr. K provided a contradictory narrative, claiming that Kim Soo Hyun did not affect her as deeply as her family's cold behavior did. He even shared a photo showing a self-inflicted neck injury.

According to The Fact, on November 1st of the previous year, Kim Sae Ron injured herself, requiring emergency surgery for a wrist ligament tear. Despite being informed, her family reportedly never visited her in the hospital. Mr. K stayed by her side until she was discharged, and the bills were covered by a former agency staff member.

Mr. K expressed, “Upon her discharge, I escorted her home. However, at our arrival, her mother was casually dining and showed no shock or compassion. This type of aloofness constantly drove Sae Ron to want to escape from everything.”

Addressing the allegation against Kim Soo Hyun’s involvement in her death, Mr. K stated, “As someone who truly knew her, I find it unreasonable that someone claiming to be her aunt is suddenly appearing and using the family name to imply that her demise was linked to issues with Kim Soo Hyun.” He added, “Although I have never met Kim Soo Hyun, I can imagine he must be feeling unfairly accused due to his fame.”

Additionally, Mr. K presented a sworn statement with his national ID number and fingerprint to validate his claims.

As the accusations surrounding the relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress intensified, Kim Soo Hyun halted all public appearances. His agency lodged a legal complaint against the YouTube channel Garosero Institute for releasing images and alleging that he was in a relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor.
