Reports suggest that Kim Soo Hyun may not be able to attend an upcoming event in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and could face a significant financial penalty. The event, sponsored by Seven-Eleven for the cherry blossom season, is scheduled for March 19th. Prior to this development, Kim Soo Hyun had traveled to Taiwan to discuss the project, which involved the release of three limited-edition products bearing his image, like food items and coffee cups to be revealed at the event. However, due to a recent scandal, Seven-Eleven is now reconsidering his involvement, with slim chances of him attending the event.

The Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival, which drew around 60,000 fans last year, was planning to feature celebrities from various countries this year, including Kim Soo Hyun and Koda Kumi. His role was to perform for 40 minutes on the festival's last day, a performance that may now be in jeopardy. The potential penalty for canceling his appearance is estimated to be around 30 million TWD (approximately 1.32 billion KRW) due to the event's size.

Kim Soo Hyun has faced backlash recently after allegations surfaced about his relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Consequently, several brands that he endorsed as a commercial model have been terminating their contracts.
