Singer and artist Kwon Ji An (Solbi) is joining the cause against cyberbullying by participating in the exclusive exhibition 'STOP! Cyberbullying', scheduled to take place at the National Assembly Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, on March 25th and 26th.

The exhibtion's primary goal is to heighten public awareness regarding cyberbullying and seek solutions to cultivate a more favorable digital culture. The escalating issue of cyberbullying impacts not just notable personalities and celebrities but also everyday people, propagating through social networks, news outlets, videos and messaging platforms. The pressing need for societal awareness and proactive action has spurred the inception of this campaign.

In addition to Kwon Ji An, artists Kim Won Geun, Kim Jin Woo, Kim Tae Young, Seo Seung Jun, and Illos will exhibit their creations, providing insights into the seriousness of cyberbullying through their artistic expressions. The exhibition is designed to provoke contemplation, inspire introspection, and underscore the role of individuals in shaping a secure digital sphere.

Kwon Ji An will present the documentary ‘Painting Through Pain’, where she takes on the lead role. Directed by Komeil Soheili, this documentary secured the Silver award in the Documentary Category at the 2024 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. It delves into her trials with online gossip, hurtful comments, and continuous cyberbullying, underscoring the emotional toll of online abuse.

Moreover, she will exhibit her ‘Apple’ series, a creative reaction to a derisive online remark stating, ‘At least you know how to paint an apple.’ By transmuting negative comments into art, she advocates for messages of conciliation and linguistic refinement, urging spectators to reconsider the impact of their words.

The exhibition's curator, Jeon Hye Yeon, mentioned, “We aspire for visitors to realize the alarming truth of cyberbullying through visually dynamic and thought-provoking art pieces, which include installations, sculptures, kinetic art, and media art.”

The ‘STOP! Cyberbullying’ exhibition is spearheaded by Democratic Party legislator Kim Young Bae (Seongbuk District, Seoul) and Cultural Nomad (CEO Jeon Hye Yeon), supported by the Korea Internet Corporations Association and backed by major tech entities like Naver, Meta, ByteDance, and YouTube, as part of a comprehensive endeavor to nurture a more positive online space.

Meanwhile, Kwon Ji An is slated to participate in an exclusive exhibition in Porto, Portugal, this coming May.
