Danielle, a member of the K-pop group NJZ (NewJeans), discussed the strict control and surveillance she faced as a trainee under HYBE. During a live broadcast on March 18 via NJZ's official account, she shared how rules lacked meaningful purpose during her trainee days. From having to inform before going to the bathroom to sending meal photos to a manager before eating, Danielle revealed the constant monitoring and lack of freedom she experienced.
The members of NJZ, including Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein, have been in a legal dispute with ADOR since late last year. Following an emergency press conference on November 27, 2024, where they declared their intent to terminate their exclusive contracts with ADOR due to unaddressed grievances, ADOR responded by filing a lawsuit to uphold the contracts. The court hearing on March 7, 2025, focused on ADOR's injunction request to maintain agency status and prevent independent advertisement contracts. The court is set to make a decision after reviewing evidence by March 14.
