In a series of social media posts, Kanye West has openly challenged Kendrick Lamar to engage in a lyrical feud reminiscent of a "Meet the Grahams" format on behalf of UMG CEO Lucien Grainge.
Kanye West directly called out Kendrick Lamar, prompting the rapper from Compton to engage in a confrontational exchange similar to the style of "Meet the Grahams."
During a Twitter rant aimed at various individuals, Kanye West specifically directed his challenge towards Lamar, pushing him to provoke a response on behalf of the head of Universal Music Group (UMG), Lucien Grainge.
The motivation behind West's tweets stemmed from a fan suggesting he needed Kendrick Lamar to create a track similar to "Meet the Grahams" for him. Additionally, West expressed his discontent with a phrase “I HAAAAAATED NOT LIKE US.”
Further tweets from West referenced Lucien Grainge, whom he previously referred to as Drake's "rich baby daddy," regarding a song remix that did not proceed as expected.
Earlier that day, Kanye West had initiated a public tirade against his former colleagues and associates like Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and the late Virgil Abloh, accusing them of disloyalty and manipulation within the industry.
Kanye West's outburst was partly triggered by Playboi Carti's request for a feature from North West, which West vehemently opposed.
Throughout his social media outbursts, Kanye West also made antisemitic remarks, criticized Pusha T and Ty Dolla $ign for creating distance, and accused Tyler, The Creator of lacking originality.
Despite Kanye West's negative remarks about Kendrick Lamar's collaboration with Playboi Carti, he previously stated that he believed anyone who challenged Lamar in a rap battle would ultimately lose.
West continued to affirm his belief that he was the only artist capable of overcoming Kendrick Lamar in a battle and declared himself as "the greatest that ever existed."
