Kim Yoon Ah, the lead vocalist of Jaurim, recently updated her fans on her health condition while battling congenital immunodeficiency from her hospital room. In a post on March 18, she shared a photo from her hospital bed with the caption "20250314, Auxiliary Battery Day."
Even though she is attached to an IV drip in the picture, Kim Yoon Ah displayed a positive and upbeat attitude by referring to her treatment day as "Auxiliary Battery Day." She spoke openly about her struggle with neurological paralysis on the YouTube channel 'Sebasi Talk' last year, revealing how her immune system weakened drastically after working on Jaurim’s 8th full-length album in 2011.
Her diagnosis of congenital immunodeficiency led her to undergo monthly treatments. She described how the paralysis affected various functions like her sense of smell, taste, and hearing. Despite some lingering effects, she mentioned her improved hearing and muscles allowing her to continue working with effort.
During an appearance on SBS’s 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny' last year, she disclosed the need for monthly IV immunoglobulin (IVIG) injections to boost her immune system due to low immunoglobulin levels. She stressed the importance of getting enough sleep as advised by her doctor to prevent health complications, emphasizing the impact of overwork and sleep deprivation on her condition.
Kim Yoon Ah, who has been married to dentist Kim Hyung Kyu since 2006 and has a son with him, continues to bravely face her health challenges while remaining dedicated to her work.
