UMG filed a motion to have the lawsuit Drake filed against them dismissed, which revolves around his allegations concerning Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us." The court documents emphasize that Drake, a highly successful artist, engaged in a rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, which he ultimately lost and is now trying to contest through legal action. The feud between Drake and Lamar involved the release of multiple diss tracks, with UMG highlighting the significance of Lamar's "Not Like Us" in the music industry. UMG points out the track's success, including winning Grammy Awards and being featured in prestigious events like the Super Bowl halftime show. Drake recently settled a dispute with iHeartMedia over the same issue. His original legal complaint alleged that iHeartMedia had received illegal payments from UMG to promote "Not Like Us" on the radio.
