The family of Kim Sae Ron, who is deceased, released a memorial video featuring an AI-generated version of her. The video was uploaded by Kwon Young Chan, the head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, on his YouTube channel on March 14. The description noted that it was created by Kim Sae Ron's family.
In the video, the AI version of Kim Sae Ron expressed gratitude to her fans for their love and support throughout her acting career, acknowledging that she had some shortcomings. She thanked her supporters for believing in her and waiting for her. She also conveyed appreciation to her friends and family for contributing to her happy moments and asked them not to cry too much over her passing.
Ending the message, she asked to be remembered as a cheerful and warm individual in the future. Additionally, on March 17, Kim Sae Ron's family took legal action against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho for spreading false information and defaming her. The family's representative, Attorney Bu Ji Seok from Buyou Law Firm, held a press conference at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the same day.
The lawsuit was filed against Lee Jin Ho for making videos with inaccurate details about Kim Sae Ron since 2022. Attorney Bu clarified that the misinformation surrounding Kim Sae Ron's purported relationship with Kim Soo Hyun during her teenage years was false, despite the acknowledgment that they were in a relationship, denying claims that it was fabricated by Kim Sae Ron.
Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16. Following allegations of her relationship with actor Kim Soo Hyun, his agency, Gold Medalist, initially denied the claims. However, they later confirmed the relationship when a photo of the two was released, asserting that it did not commence when Kim Sae Ron was a minor. The agency also refuted claims of financial transactions or debts between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron.
