/Article

Nvidia (NVDA) stock experienced a slight decrease of over 1% in early trading on Monday before the AI chipmaker's annual GTC conference on March 18. The event is anticipated to feature CEO Jensen Huang unveiling the company's upcoming AI chip, Blackwell Ultra, and a new AI superchip named Vera Rubin.

This decline follows an 8% increase the previous week, with Nvidia's shares climbing over 5% on Friday. Huang had hinted about revealing more details regarding Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin during the post-earnings call on February 26.

Despite facing challenges such as overheating and glitches, Nvidia successfully enlarged the production of its existing Blackwell AI servers, which generated substantial revenue for the company. Huang noted that transitioning from Blackwell to Blackwell Ultra is smoother compared to previous changes in system architecture.

Huang confirmed the launch of Blackwell Ultra in the second half of the current year. Other chip stocks, like Samsung, Dell, AMD, and Arm, saw positive movement in trading before the GTC conference.

Apart from introducing Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin, Nvidia is anticipated to discuss its simulation technologies and other developments in AI during the conference. Stifel analyst Ruben Roy mentioned expectations for Huang to provide insights on evolving AI workloads and advancements in areas like Physical AI and Robotics.
