Safran, a French aircraft equipment manufacturer, has proposed solutions to gain approval from the EU antitrust regulators for its $1.8 billion acquisition bid for Collins Aerospace's flight controls unit. The European Commission extended the decision deadline to April 4 and is likely to gather feedback from competitors and customers before finalizing its decision. In a related move, Safran announced the sale of its North American electromechanical actuation business to Woodward as part of the Collins deal.
