Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the alleged mastermind behind the tragic killing of Tupac Shakur in 1996, has broken his silence in a recent interview from prison. Speaking to ABC News, Keefe D, the only person charged in connection with the murder, stood firm in asserting his innocence, claiming that his confession was coerced through financial incentives.
Asserting his innocence, Keefe D adamantly stated, “I’m innocent. I ain’t kill nobody,” emphasizing the absence of incriminating evidence against him and refuting the prosecutors’ claims. He maintained that he was in Los Angeles, far from the crime scene in Las Vegas when the fatal shooting occurred.
Challenging the prosecution’s case, Keefe D pointed the finger at the state’s “key witness,” Reggie Wright Jr., alleging that Wright orchestrated the heinous act. Keefe D's legal team asserts they have evidence implicating Wright as the actual mastermind behind Tupac Shakur’s murder.
While admitting to being present in the vehicle during the shooting in previous accounts, including his memoir, Keefe D denied writing the memoir and expressed regret over his past statements. He acknowledged that he should have remained silent on the matter.
Currently incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center since his arrest in September 2024, Keefe D recently made headlines for a scuffle with another inmate. His connections to the crime date back to his involvement in setting up the drive-by shooting that claimed the life of the iconic Hip-Hop artist.
In a surprising turn of events, a lawsuit filed by Kirk Burrowes alleges that music mogul Diddy had engaged in dealings with Keefe D related to Tupac Shakur’s assassination, suggesting a payment of $1 million to facilitate actions leading to the murder. This fresh claim adds a new layer of intrigue to the enduring mystery surrounding Shakur's tragic death.
