'Hitman 2' Takes the Lead at the Box Office, Surpassing 'The Black Nuns'
The sequel 'Hitman 2' has reclaimed the top spot at the box office, surpassing 'The Black Nuns' in viewership. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network data on the 28th, 'Hitman 2' attracted 189,784 viewers, bringing its total viewership to 794,671. The film continues the story of Jun, a former National Intelligence Service agent turned webtoon writer, as he unwittingly creates a webtoon mirroring real-life crimes, setting off a chain of events. Starring Kwon Sang Woo, Jung Joonho, Lee Yi Kyung, and Hwang Wooseulhye, the movie is directed by Choi Wonseop.
In second place, 'The Black Nuns,' featuring Song Hye Kyo, drew 162,448 viewers on the same day, with a cumulative audience of 768,603. The film follows nuns performing a forbidden ritual to save a possessed boy, with Song Hye Kyo starring as Yunia and Jeon Yeobin as Michaela.
Coming in at third is 'Secret That Cannot Be Told,' starring D.O., which garnered 53,890 viewers on its release day, totaling 52,674 viewers. The story revolves around Yoojun and Jungah, directed by Seo Yoomin.
Occupying fourth place is 'Harbin,' starring Hyun Bin, with 27,105 viewers on the 28th and a cumulative audience of 4,669,186. Directed by Woo Minho, the film depicts the assassination of Ito Hirobumi by Ahn Junggeun during the Japanese colonial rule. Hyun Bin leads the cast in this historical drama.
