Kim Hyun Joong, the former SS501 member and actor, has grabbed the spotlight with his unconventional farming lifestyle, as showcased in a recent episode of tvN's Free Doctor on February 28 (KST).

Despite past legal troubles, including being accused of assault and battery by his ex-girlfriend and a DUI incident, Kim Hyun Joong has since turned a new leaf. He tied the knot with a woman of the same age in 2022, and they now have two sons. Embracing his passion for farming, he has been actively documenting his agricultural endeavors on YouTube, amassing a massive following of 1.21 million subscribers.

On a 660-square-meter piece of land in Icheon, Kim Hyun Joong personally tends to his crops. Acquiring the land for $150,000 initially, its value has significantly dropped to $22,500 over the years due to its classification as farmland. Undeterred, he embarked on his farming journey, opting to cultivate corn for its shorter growth period. Despite facing challenges such as a devastating wind incident that destroyed his cornfield, Kim Hyun Joong persevered with the guidance of a seasoned village chief, forging a strong bond that led to unique opportunities like inviting trot singer Shin In Seon to perform at a local festival in September 2024.

Balancing his farming passion with his thriving entertainment career, Kim Hyun Joong has embarked on a world tour across Latin America, held an international dance concert, and starred in a Korea-Japan co-produced drama. With his unique and inspiring journey, Kim Hyun Joong continues to connect with fans worldwide as he navigates his dual life of farming and international engagements.
