BLACKPINK's Lisa Opens Up About Challenges of Running Her Own Agency
In a much-anticipated episode of ‘ZIP DAESUNG,’ the spotlight was on Lisa from BLACKPINK as she dished out insights about the trials and triumphs of being at the helm of her own agency.
The video, titled ‘BangPink in Your Area Part 2 | Now Only Two Left,’ featured Lisa in a candid conversation with Daesung that had fans buzzing. Lisa, who launched her independent label, LLOUD, just last year, didn't hold back when discussing the realities of running the show.
When Daesung prodded, “As a CEO, have you stumbled upon things that the company used to handle?” Lisa didn't hesitate, revealing, “Music video production costs… they’re a whole different ball game.”
Drawing a comparison between the lavish music videos of Big Bang and BLACKPINK under YG Entertainment, Daesung quizzed Lisa about the making of her ‘Rockstar’ music video, especially noting the scene where she seemingly rented a whole street for the shoot. Setting the record straight, Lisa shared, “We actually didn’t rent it. We seized the moment at dawn after the rain stopped, and with the empty streets, the video came out even better.”
Lisa also shed light on her creative process, stating, “I collaborate with the director on the music video concept, and if I have any cool ideas, I pitch in.” Unafraid to show her savvy side, when Daesung teasingly asked, “Do you haggle for better deals?” Lisa chuckled and confessed, “You bet, I always push for discounts.”
While navigating the fine line between achieving quality and managing costs, Lisa admitted, “Sticking to the budget can be a tough nut to crack because I strive to meet the high standards set by our fans.”
Amidst all the agency buzz, Lisa dropped her highly-anticipated full-length album ‘Alter Ego’ on the same day. Excitement is in the air as she gears up to grace the stage at the Academy Awards ceremony in March and dazzle solo at Coachella in April.
