Lim, formerly of Wonder Girls, shared a side-splitting story on the latest episode of 'The Return of Superman' on KBS2 TV.

Airing on February 26, Lim and Jang Dong Min appeared alongside hosts Park Soo Hong, Choi Ji Woo, and Ahn Young Mi. The episode followed Lim and her husband, Shin Min Chul, who had just become parents to their second child 55 days ago, as they spent time with Lim's parents visiting from Hong Kong.

Over a family meal, Lim's father jokingly prodded, "How did you two start dating behind my back?" To everyone's surprise, it turned out that they had first met at a Taekwondo event hosted by Lim's father.

Reflecting on the initial encounter, Lim chuckled, "I only went because my dad promised steak. If not for that, I might have had second thoughts."

It was revealed that Lim's mother had a hand in bridging the gap between Lim and Min Chul. Min Chul revealed, "Before we officially dated, I discreetly messaged my soon-to-be mother-in-law to gather intel on Lim."

Opening up, Lim's mother admitted, "I wanted Min Chul to watch over Lim while she was in Korea alone," expressing her concerns about her daughter living far away from her family.

She recounted how Min Chul had accompanied Lim to her university interview as a guardian. "He attended Lim's university interview on our behalf. I've always been grateful for that," Lim's mother shared.

Min Chul added, "I stood in for her parents." Lim added, "Exactly. During the interview, he dropped me off and waited for me in the parents' section. I leaned on him a lot during those times."

Min Chul also confessed to posing as Lim's manager while they were courting.

Expanding on the situation, Lim shared, "When we were out together, people mistakenly thought he was my manager. It even reached a point where fans asked him for my autograph!"
