Tragically, Irv Gotti, the co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, passed away suddenly at the age of 54 on February 5. His brother and business partner, Chris Gotti, now feels the irreplaceable loss deeply.

Although the specific cause of Irv’s death remains unknown, he had been battling Type 1 diabetes and experienced a stroke shortly before his passing. Chris shared in the interview that Irv had the stroke while enjoying Chinese food during a game of poker.

Reflecting on his brother’s diagnosis, Chris disclosed, “He was diagnosed in his 40s, but Irv neglected regular check-ups." He further explained, “It wasn’t the diabetes itself that took him, but what it did to his body.”
